Meghan and Harry Won't Hear This But You Will
Monday Mar 15, 2021
Monday Mar 15, 2021
Who is ready for us to spill the Royal Tea on the Oprah Interview with Meghan and Harry? This interview was watched by billions of people across the globe. For the most part we had different opinions to bring to the table on this one. We discussed how Meghan spoke openly about going through depression and have suicidal thoughts during pregnancy. On one hand we would like to thank her for being so courageous and brave by sharing her personal experience. We put such an unrealistic pressure on women in society that the marriage and starting a family brings you every ounce of happiness that you could ever need or want. Which is not entirely true life is more complex than that and when women fall short of that "fairy tale of happiness" we often pressure them into feeling ashamed or embarrassed for not being entirely happy. In a way it gave all women all over the world who could resonate on some level with her overall experience permission to speak openly about their experiences without feeling ashamed or embarrassed
On another hand it was disappointing to see that it took Prince Harry to marry and start a family to truly understand the complexity of racism and what it really looks like to be an advocate for mental health and not just a face for it. We were upset the interview didn't truly dive into anything he may be experiencing right now. It could of been a great shift for the male population in moving away from the "toxic masculinity" that we breed into society.
Either way we wish them well in their new transition and what we wanted you all to take away this week is how important it is to never feel ashamed or embarrassed to ask for help when it comes to your mental well being. What does the flight attendant say when the plane is going down? Put your oxygen mask on first then help others.

Have You Watched The Britney Spears Documentary?
Monday Mar 01, 2021
Monday Mar 01, 2021
We're dissecting and discussing the Framing Britney Spears Documentary this week. Have you watched it yet? The documentary is a huge call to mental health awareness that we need to take as a society. It was very interesting to look back at the interviews that were conducted with Britney Spears and how normalized it was to ask such age in appropriate questions. Was Diane Sawyer out of her lane for publicizing her personal breakup or was she being a good reporter? What happened to being a good human? After watching this documentary we realized how much "feeding the beast" is causing an uproar of toxicity. Do you think we've grown as a society and become more emotionally intelligent since then? Let us know!
Have a great week and don't forget to share us with your friends!

Becoming Parents Abroad in Europe
Monday Feb 22, 2021
Monday Feb 22, 2021
Today's a unique episode we decided to open up about our experience becoming parents in abroad. We just hit another milestone with our son and thought this would be the best time to share what this journey has been like for us. We share the details of what it was like figuring out whether we should give birth at the American Military Hospital or the Local German Hospital and why we chose the one that we did. We are very open and honest about what our birth plan was and why. We also share how Courtney went into early labor while visiting Luxembourg when her parents had just arrived for the birth. We always hear about the Mothers point of view on pregnancy but no one ever asks the Dad what his thought or postpartum concerns are so Courtney dived into that conversation with Abe to share his personal insights.
Special Side Note from Courtney and Abe: Be kind after listening to our Birth Story we love delivering a very unrefined and unpolished message to you guys each and every week. We did not shy away from that this week either. We shared what our real thoughts were as we ventured through this new journey. This is a very sensitive subject as we understand for anyone that is a parent and we think all birth plans and birth stories are extremely incredible stories to be told as they are all different. Courtney took the time to open up very honestly on what her thoughts were behind our birth plan. Regardless of what your experience or plan may have been please be kind about ours and we will send you a thank you in advance!
Catch ya'll next week!

How do you take care of it? Are you living paycheck to paycheck? The Stock Market..some of us know exactly what we're doing and some of us are so incredibly intimidated by it we would never dream of the day we would be trading. Abe shares his journey in trading and what his key points are to finding good materiel to educate yourself to become a trader. A few takeaways from today's episode 1) invest in your financial knowledge game 2) be proactive with growing your piggybank 3) the most important lesson we both learned when we were younger was it is so important that YOU ARE ALWAYS ALIGNED WITH PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE SAME FINANCIAL VALUES AND GOALS AS YOU!
